It’s commonly known that one of the biggest issues Barack Obama’s presidency had was transparency. Still, nobody believed that he would go to this extent to hide things from the public. Just when you think there’s nothing to be surprised by anymore, you are wrong.
As reported by the Conservative Journal, former president Barack Obama spent a record $36.2 million taxpayer dollars in legal fees in an attempt to conceal things from the media and from the public. With the help of the Freedom of Information Act, Obama should have disclosed various records when he was requested to. Instead, he spent years and millions continuing to deny knowing the location of whatever was in question.
According to a report, out of the $36.2 million “the DOJ has accounted for $12 million, the Homeland Security Department for $6.3 million and the Pentagon for $4.8 million.”
Despite claiming to the “most transparent administration in history,” the Obama administration took its time to respond to the 788, 769 requests for files and didn’t bother with the $478 million dollars they paid staff to “answer” them. Statistic say that in 77 percent of the requests under Obama’s administration, the public got censored files or nothing at all.
