Considering where this threat came from one can safely say this is getting serious. A little too close for comfort.
Politics is a tough business and as we saw with the Steve Scalise shooting tensions and emotions run high. At these times it is always a good idea to slow down the hate and remember it is just a game politician’s play.
Most are good Americans who take hard stances for political reasons. Politicians, and Mike Pence gets bashed more than most, are good people in a rotten profession.
And we should all remember that.
According to the Daily Mail, a National Guardsman has been arrested for talking about killing Vice President Mike Pence before his visit yesterday to speak at a 9/11 memorial in Pennsylvania.
Twenty-two-year-old William Robert Dunbar of Berlin, New Jersey was arrested and charged Saturday with threatening the life of the Vice-President after his comments became known before Pence’s trip for the memorial of the Flight 93 crash.
Richland Township police allege that Dunbar who was on duty at the Army National Guard Training Center said, ‘If someone pays me enough money, I will kill the vice president.’
Witnesses said they immediately contacted the proper commanding officers after they heard Dunbar make the threat a second time.
Once may be a joke and not a funny one but twice will get your ass sent to the brig.
Police took Dunbar to the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for evaluation and then to county prison where he is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Pence spoke at Shanksville in front of about 1,000 people where he honored the heroes who may have saved his life as that plane was headed towards the Capitol where he was working.
“Without regard to personal safety, they rushed forward to save lives…I will always believe that I and many others in our nation’s capital were able to go home that day and hug our families because of the courage and sacrifice of the heroes of Flight 93.”
